C-Span Puts Its Full Archives on the Web

WASHINGTON — Researchers, political satirists and partisan mudslingers, take note: C-Span has uploaded virtually every minute of its video archives to the Internet.

The archives, at C-SpanVideo.org, cover 23 years of history and five presidential administrations and are sure to provide new fodder for pundits and politicians alike. The network will formally announce the completion of the C-Span Video Library on Wednesday.

Having free online access to the more than 160,000 hours of C-Span footage is “like being able to Google political history using the ‘I Feel Lucky’ button every time,” saidRachel Maddow, the liberal MSNBC host.

Ed Morrissey, a senior correspondent for the conservative blog Hot Air (hotair.com), said, “The geek in me wants to find an excuse to start digging.”

No other cable network is likely to give away its precious archives on the Internet. (Even “Book TV” is available.) But C-Span is one of a kind, a creation of the cable industry that records every Congressional session, every White House press briefing and other acts of official Washington.

The online archives reinforce what some would call the Web’s single best quality: its ability to recall seemingly every statement and smear. And it is even more powerful when the viewer can rewind the video.

The C-Span founder, Brian Lamb, said in an interview here last week that the archives were an extension of the network’s public service commitment.

“That’s where the history will be,” Mr. Lamb said. Continue reading

Wither Government. Chaos! Anarchy! Lost Revenue!

New York Gov. David Paterson is warning that if he is forced to shut down government next week chaos and anarchy will rule in the state.

“No one knows the full ramifications of a government shutdown,” said Paterson. “It would create unimaginable chaos around the state and the greater metropolitan areas,” reports WCBS TV.

The legislature in the Empire State has failed to pass a budget and this will result in doomsday, according to Paterson.

“Such chaos includes closing all state parks, motor vehicles offices, courts, and even the lottery. Public assistance payments would not be made and unemployment payments might also be held up,” reports Marcia Kramer for WCBS.

No state registration (and fees) of motor vehicles! No courts to convict people for violating myriad laws imposed by the state and throwing the victims into the prison-industrial complex! No state lottery to fleece the plebs! No bureaucrats collecting fees at state parks and ticketing people for littering or double parking! Chaos, indeed — for the parasite state. A time out for just about all other New Yorkers.

  • A D V E R T I S E M E N T

Except the dependent class of welfare “recipients” receiving “public assistance” (receiving stolen goods) and millions reduced to going on the dole thanks to the bankster manipulated economy that creates and destroys jobs.

Naturally if cut off from the “insurance” teat many of these folks will go into the street and break and burn things. Can you blame them? Slaves often rebel.

Paterson has called New York politicos who will not go along with his budget plan thugs. Republicans want more cuts than those offered by the gov. Paterson’s piecemeal cuts include delaying “welfare grant” (stolen goods) increases, denying welfare to folks who do not meet employment requirements (as if there are any jobs to be had in New York or anywhere else), and reducing what bureaucrats call a “personal needs allowance” for drug addicts (the CIA ships in the drugs and the tax payers are forced at gunpoint to fund expensive programs to get them off the drugs — an endless cycle).

New Yorkers need not worry though — for now. It looks like Paterson and the lawmakers will come up with a deal by Monday and the budget problems of the state will limp along until something finally breaks and the whole house of cards comes tumbling down.

Only martial law will stop the anarchy and chaos after that happens.

I didn’t know blind mello jellon’s real name was Patterson….didn’t he get caught for the same thing the last governor was caught doing…paying someone for sex. Ohhhhhh, he’s colored, that’s just part of his heritage. Before you say that’s racist, prove it’s not factual. Getting sex for promotional favors is the same , just a different form of currency.

Factual or not, what is your point? Who cares?
On a brighter note, old Nimmo seems to be coming around. A little anarchy would be good for us. At least it is better than slavery. Perhaps people might learn to care for themselves instead of Nanny doing it for them.

Obviously (to me), anarchy is the only logical answer to tyranny. Has there yet, in the history of mankind, ever been a government that did not become the enemy of the people? How many times must we try in vain to make a horribly flawed and violent concept (that of “government”, as we currently understand it) work out humanely?

No, the idea of “government” is that there will be a class of people who ubiquitiously make all choices for everyone, regardless of their ability to even comprehend the nature of the problems they address. Under anarchist philosophy, those people with the highest understanding and ability to address any particular problem are the “leaders” of the committees that address those problems. Once those problems are rectified, the committee is dissolved and life continues.

The major difference between this type of society and the one we find ourselves imprisoned in is that under the current system, one group of people effectively responds to a singular problem, and based on their success in solving that problem decide (for themselves, I might add) that henceforth they will be the determining body on EVERY OTHER decision for as long as they can swing it. I probably don’t need to explain to you why this is a bad idea.

How funny would it be if they shut everything down and the people took charge and things functioned better than the government could even think of providing. Of course the MSM wouldn’t cover it, but who is even listening to them anymore anyway.

Actually there was an Anarchist revolution in Spain in the 30’s and quality of life improved significantly for the people until it was crushed. The Communists helped the Fascists shut it down interestingly enough. George Orwell wrote a book about it I think called Homage to Catalonia or something like that

That movie was a joke. It wouldn’t happen that way. All the creeps would be killed very fast. This has been proved many times in the past. The police are presently protecting the criminals. People are afraid to protect themselfs. In anarchy, they just kill the bastards. Murders are kept for decades and the courts/prizons/LAWYERS /$$$ feast on them for years. And we pay for this.

just imagine all the freedom we would have without the feds!! business would boom, the economy would recover, the herd could go on about their everyday life without worrying who’s spying on them and wanting to take their hard earned money. We could all breathe a little easier. unfortunately it won’t happen, but its a nice thought.

Our soldiers would be able to come home and be reunited with their families. Our border would be able to be secured. The drugs would stop coming in by means of our own CIA. All initialed agencies would be taken out, and traitors would be “hanged”. Etc… etc… I’m already liking the sound of it. When do we start?

I don’t understand why they would have to shut down the parks. Does the grass not grow without government? Does the sun not shine without government? Do the flowers not bloom without government? Do the children not play without government?
Yes, life will go on without government. Your earnings and spending would be more beneficial and put to use in your local community without government.

I think the only thing I would miss without government is the truck comming by every tues. and fri. and hauling off my garbage…but that could also be easily remedied.

That was my very first thought. It reminds me of living in Honolulu…my friend and I decided to do a night swim at 11:30 pm, and we were having a great time. Until, that is, a police car drove by and started shining his spotlight on us. Through the speaker he shouted, “The beach is closed!” Closed? FyI every edge of Oahu is a beach. There are no gates, no walls, just the edge of land and ocean. How, exactly, does that become “closed”? Hmmm? It’s not closed, you just have a car and a gun and are telling me I can’t go swimming in Gods blue ocean. Same thing with these parks. To hear these guys talk, the sun wouldn’t shine if they didn’t authorize it. It’s the height of hubris and I pray to God almighty that they are struck down for their sickening display of false authority and their outward acts of violence angainst the peace-loving people of this world.

What is needed here is a return to the Constitution of the United States. We need to have a complete divorce of Bank and State. The old struggle that was fought out here in Jackson’s day must be fought over again… The Federal Reserve Act should be repealed and the Federal Reserve Banks, having violated their charters, should be liquidated immediately. Faithless Government officers who have violated their oaths of office should be impeached and brought to trial. Unless this is done by us, I predict that the American people, outraged, robbed, pillaged, insulted, and betrayed as they are in their own land, will rise in their wrath and send a President here who will sweep the [Jewish] money changers out of the temple. – Congressman Louis T. McFadden (Rep. Pa)

“We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected the promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world-government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the National autodetermination practiced in past centuries”–David Rockefeller in an address to a Trilateral Commission meeting in June of 1991

“The drive of the Rockefellers and their allies is to create a one-world government combining supercapitalism and Communism under the same tent, all under their control…. Do I mean conspiracy? Yes I do. I am convinced there is such a plot, international in scope, generations old in planning, and incredibly evil in intent.” — Congressman Larry P. McDonald, 1976

“We will so wear out and exhaust the Gentiles by all this that they will be compelled to offer us an international authority, which by its position will enable us to absorb without disturbance all the governmental forces of the world and thus form a super-government.” (Protocol 5)

Well it is time to harangue the troops again. Way back I wrote:

“The solution to our problems is the removal of government enforced impediment. What are these impediments? Three examples should suffice for now. These are: debt, the drug war, and military imperialism. Imagine what life would be like if these three problems were no longer in existence?”

Add to this list the loss of our industries to overseas relocation.

If you don’t believe that our industries were removed intentionally, than you may want to research the 1991 Kissinger quote in the New York Times that stated (and I paraphrase) “We (the buildibergers) are glad that we have achieved the shifting of WORLD industrial emphasis to the Pacific Rim region.” Please look it up Husky. This not only means that such groups do control our Government, but are willing to commit treason against us.

Our industries were and are being literally pushed out of the U.S. by a number of factors: ridiculous environmental regulatory burden, high labor costs, are mostly caused by high labor taxation and government mandate (SSI matching et al.) and high legal and insurance expense. Fred E. Foldvary of the “Progress Report stated “Eliminating restrictions and taxes on labor creates full employment.” I would appreciate if anyone could add to this.

Added help to growing industry could be garnered if we embark upon a crash nuclear power plant program to lower energy costs. It looks like Obama actually would jive with this as he supported the creation of two big nuke plants in Georgia; but we need more like thirty to start with.

All of the above impediments to industry are due to our Govt. There will be no rebirth of industry here without the election loss of incumbents who are replaced by Tea party libertarians (in philosophy, not party. Let’s take back both parties!!) However, the tea party candidates need to be told that proper representation of us means that we need a prosperous and free nation again. We need to start hearing concrete, rational and doable solutions coming from these candidates in order to know that they will embark upon the correct solution paths to our regained economic survival and health. I need to ask any cohorts I may have here to cut and paste some of my messages and join me in spamming the Tea candidates. Obviously my solutions presented here will not be the final form of what is enacted, but they are a start to a path of removing the four impediments. Again those impediments are: Drug war, Deindustrialization, Debt and Imperialism.

Please let me know if you have emailed any candidates, statehouses or the Congress.

We all know what the problems are. We must stop bitching and start acting. We can win if we start to take the proper steps.

If anyone riots, rapes, and loots it will be blacks, Mexicans, and people that come from the Latin America. White people who have lost their fire will stay scared in their homes, because they allowed criminal politicians to usurp their second amendment rights. Hopefully none of their daughters will be raped and violated by the mongrel hordes. I am ashamed to be white. Not because of some bs that happened 300 years for which I had no part but for the fact that white people in this country have been weak knee, yellow belly, jello back wimps that flinch at any sign of aggression. I hate soulless sterile white yuppies that are afraid to sweat and get dirt under their fingernails. I heard one asshole say “Roughing it means being in a hotel without room service.” I wanted to flail him for that comment and let me be clear my beef isn’t with someones skin color its with their attitude.

I don’t hate blacks and Latins because their skin is darker. That is absurd. I take offense to them because their two groups that account for most of the violent crimes, drug use and illegitimate births in America. Yet they get all the racial set asides, scholarships, grants and set asides so they pull themselves up. Still they don’t take advantage of it and work hard to make their lives better. I could right a whole article about my experiences as a teen and as an adult about the inner city community and their attitudes about stuff.
